Freakonomics
Last book I’ve read is

Dubner. I came across this book after reading this post at estratega , and I have really enjoyed the lecture, it’s the kind of book that gives you some nice questions and then it even tries to answer them, in a comprehensive and realistic way. I really recommend it to any curious mind.
I must say that I’ve downloaded it from a P2P network, otherwise I wouldn’t have read it, as before starting I wasn’t quite sure I would like it. I must also say that the price of the printed version is really nice.

I think I should have commented briefly the book and not only refer to it. I also like the way the author thinks and would like to find more about its gist, but got a bit dissapointed about the style and the development of some ideas. In any case, a very interesting book, I`m glad you enjoyed it, and would like to know what Levitt thinks about P2P downloading.
Yes some ideas and argumentations, in my opinion, are a bit too freakish. Like arguing that the legalization of the abortion made the crime drop 20 years later… It might have helped, but I found it hard to believe. I think that this kind of freakness were meant to create some polemics and help on selling the book.
Anyway, the book is really good and there are some other great studies in it, one I found interesting was seeing that the sumo wrestlers and school teachers all cheat.
I would also like to know what Levitt thinks of P2P, I think it is good for the publicity of his work, and may help increase the book sellings, I haven’t bought the book, but after recommending it to some friends, maybe some buy it.
